well, this is the fruit of all of my meticulous research and drooling over of awesome things. minus one or maybe two things, this is my perfect board right now.

i dont know if any of you have been watching he news, but the other day in boston, a couple of guys placed blinking pictures of the mooninites from athf all over the city and i kid you not, it brought the whole city to a stop. everyone thought it was a terrorist attack. i repeat, a terrorist attack.

they closed bridges, offices, subways, everything. all because ignignot was flipping the bird. as hard as he could. i mean, literally, that was it. google it and see for yourself.

after reading that story i literally laughed outloud and i cant wait until they try to press charges against the artists that put them up. i mean, come the freak on people. i hope none of the people of boston go to vegas anytime soon, they'll have the army blowing it up as the headquarters of bin laden.

sometimes i'm amazed at how really dumb people can be. i mean, if you really think about it, there are a pretty good number of people who watch that show and i know some of them live in boston. it only stands to reason that some of them tried to explain what was going on to the fearful masses. but again, i guess it's kind of hard to rationalize things like this with a scared herd of wildebeest. but then again, i probably wouldnt have said anything. it'd be too funny to watch the moronic, fearful masses huddle in a corner and wet themselves.

god i hate stupidity. get the net people.

in the now immortal words of ignignot, "i hope you can see this, because i'm doing it as hard as i've ever done it before."

music: she, sir - lieutenant
i've spent god only knows how many hours researching guitar stuff over the years and this is the fruit of my labors. enjoy. or dont.

a boss fv-500h volume pedal - $100
a roland ev-5 expression pedal for the dl-4 - $60
a dunlop 535q wah pedal - $120
a z-vex fuzz factory distortion/overdrive/modulation pedal - $180
an ibanez ts808 tubescreamer overdrive pedal - $170
a boss ts-2 tremolo pedal - $90

a pedaltrain pro-hc pedalboard - $300

a 3-tone sunburst fender jaguar or jazzmaster - $1450

and a vox ac-30 amp wouldn't hurt either.

all i've been doing today is getting prices for this stuff and figuring out how and when it will be mine. i'm excited simply by the prospect of owning this stuff in the near future.

here's to money. and all the happiness it can buy :)

that's right, i'm jacking someone's connection in my living room. probably the new neighbor girl's. oh and i'm doing so on my new laptop. which is sweet. i'm pretty excited about everything working. usually when i get into my own computers, something inevitably goes wrong and i break it. everyone else's crap i have no problems messing with, but mine never goes the way i want it to. oh well, let this be the exception. it has a built in tv tuner and i'm totally watching "out cold" right now on the big screen by extending my desktop on this thing. yesterday was a huge run around fiasco with this thing getting parts to turn my old computer hard drives into external drives and i think i was in best buy about 5 times between sunday and monday so they're pretty familiar with me there. i dont even get stopped by the security people anymore. awesome. but i'm gonna get back to downloading some of the programs i lost when my desktop crashed. someone gimme a call though. this is gonna get boring real quick.

love,
matt

well skalloween was pretty kick ass last night. but then again, it usually is. it is however really weird seeing the crowd change every year. oh well. that's just the old man in me coming out. my costume last night was way more uncomfortable than i remember, but i managed to last almost all evening in it despite its complete lack of insulation and it's general cramping of my general man area. it did however, look pretty cool i think so what's a little suffering for the sake of vanity, right? i would also like to give a thumbs up to mike for his committment to his character, and one mr. neal lambert for making me look good :)

congrats to the slaughterhouse guys and the right aways for playing a great show last night. you guys never fail to surprise. ymca was a nice touch, although i'm not gonna lie, i really only figured it was a matter of time before you guys got around to it.

clean-up wasnt as bad as i thought it was gonna be. well done by dws though for the whole tp thing. if you're gonna make a mess, at least stick around to clean up. seriously. clean up time did give me the opportunity to find out that mike lambert is one hellva guy. i had no idea he did so much to help with the shows and that's just top notch. plus he made a jim gaffigan reference which was hilarious. that and he called me "matt turbo." no adult has ever referenced me by that name. but what more could i expect from the lambert clan. just a bunch of sharp guys all around i guess.

after clean up time, everyone met at chris' and watched the right aways improv songs all night. topics included: bill cosby, condoms, tootsie pops, saved by the bell and full house. those guys have a gift. i took off after the right aways decided to drive home and got a bit of sleep before work today which sucked not as much as i thought it was going to. so now i'm here. and i have tomorrow off. and i need a shower. and to find a way to get this glitter off me. thank you nikki :)

i've never seen this on lj before, but mike mentioned that these are popular and they sound kind of cool to me. so i'm gonna copy him and do a confessional post. i'm sure you all know how they work (anonymous posting about anything you want to say about me). so go ahead, let me have it. doesnt matter what you have to say, how inane or ridiculous it may be, or if you think it might hurt my feelings. apparently that's the idea. allow the anonymous-ness of it all to let you speak freely. this should be interesting.

my first favorite part about last night:

guy 1: hey, shut up whore!
girl : fuck you!
guy 2: did you say "moore" or whore? because my last name is moore, and i'm standing next to a whore...

my second favorite part of last night:

dustin (pointing to the kid's pot leaf tattoo): that's cool, what's the ring for?
kid (kind of perturbed): it's a halo...
dustin: oh, cool.
kid: yeah, i was gonna get a bunch of smoke around it and it was gonna say "holy smoke." hahaha.
dustin: haha, sweet.

my third favorite part of last night:

satya's impersonation of an indian accent. nuff said.

dustin said it best last night. "wow, today has been a day."
well said my friend, well said.

first thing's first. i'd like to express my extreme thanks to bob and derek for helping me move a freakin piano into my basement the other day. yeah, that's right a piano. a 650-700 behemoth of wood and steel. you want a true test of friendship? ask someone to help you move a piano. i would also like to thank my brother for his help, but he doesnt "do" lj, so he misses out. i'm super sore today from all of the lifting and pulling and otherwise exerting that took place and i'm sure you guys are too, so again, thank you very much. your help was very much appreciated.

and now i have a piano. something i've wanted for quite some time. now all i have to do is teach myself to play, no big deal. i'm having someone come over tomorrow to tune it and check it over to make sure that it's still structually sound after the move. i'm really excited about picking up another instrument. especially something so dynamic. i cant wait to get it completely up and running :)

in other news, nothing new has happened. except that it's now getting cold. and it makes me angry. but i'll show you, winter. i havent bought any winter clothes since i've come back from california and i never will. you may have the rest of iowa beaten, but not me you frigid bastard. take your best shot. i will not bend.

but that's about it really.

except one last thing. congrats to sh6 on their show the other night at java joes. they played for 2 hours AND managed to convert all of their songs, including my personal fave, "gay points" into reggae/jazz versions of themselves. well done guys, that was very impressive.

now that's really it. officially out of stuff to say.

except that.
and that.
and that.
and that.
and that.
and that.

anyway, here's a piece of my teen years for all of you to enjoy.

music: radiohead - high and dry
so my birthday weekend has officially started. i have from today until next tuesday off and i couldnt be happier. last time i took this much time off i was deathly ill and i didnt leave the futon for a week. hopefully i'll have a slightly better time this year.

so far i'm in the process of cleaning my house up. i've been a bit lax about that lately. so i've cleaned my bathroom up and did some laundry. the rest of the house is in the works. thinking of heading downtown tonight or something like that. i just feel like i need to get out. any suggestions? i have been out of the loop for what seems like forever.

in other news, i'm starting to find radiohead musically inspiring. i mean, i always have before, but never to this extent. i really get a kick out of the fact that when i hear a radiohead song, i KNOW it's radiohead. there's no confusing them with anyone else. we'll see what comes of that though.

well, the dryer has stopped so i'm going to attend to my laundry. oh and tomorrow night i'm going to huhot for dinner. friends are welcome to join me. just gimme a call.

mood: hungry
music: superdrag - sold you an alibi
wow, every now and then i forget that i love superdrag. but i love picking them back up so i guess it works out.

in other news, the new sicilian lasagna pizza from pizza hut is awesome. highly recommended.

also, the countdown starts for my birthday. t-minus 10 days.

i've got a 5 day weekend starting on the 8th and going until the 10th and i'd like to see as many people as possible during that time. i'm sure there will be huhot, probably some perkins, chocolate milk, maybe a barbeque, some ice cream, perhaps a trip to the lake (if the weather permits), and probably some general lazing about at my house. you're all welcome to any festivities that may break out spontaneously, but i'll do my best to keep you all informed as to what's going on when. and just give me a call if anyone's interested in hanging out or has any further ideas/plans. you all know the number i think.

and if not, feel free to call bob ketch and offer him money and/or butter him up with complements and/or margarine and he'll give you my number. but only if you're sincere. he's a crafty one that mr. ketch, so he'll know if you're faking.

thank you all.

music: radiohead - where i end and you begin
last night was pretty fun i must say. good luck to all of the new college kids this year, it looks like you're all assimilating very nicely into the lifestyle :)

on another note, it was great to see slaughterhouse play again. most of those guys i havent seen in forever and it was good to catch up and hang out after the show. i also love everyone's new affinity for facial hair. i wish i could join the club, but my genes tend to exclude me there. oh well i guess. just a good night in general and i cant say it enough... good to see everyone. hopefully it wont be forever before we all meet up again.

oh and now that my thumb is all healed up, if anyone knows of a band that is looking for a guitarist/second guitarist, i'm all ears. seriously.

i'm off to shower and probably get to bed... work tomorrow.

if anyone needs me, you know the number.

ah. livejournal. like an ice cold glass of milk on a hot day. refreshing, delicious, and most of the time, a good choice.

i only have one small announcement/request. my superphone recently passed into the halls of valhalla where it will spend the rest of eternity in peace.

since sprint couldnt figure out what happened, they just gave me a new one for $35. super sweet deal if you ask me.

anywho, now i dont have anyone's number, address, birthday, sexual orientation, or anything of the like. so if you read this, and want me to call you at some point, perhaps for some lovin that is the stuff legends are made of, or to fix something, or some combination thereof; call me or text me at 7780109 or just leave it here.

thank you all for your time.

music: rory and the artificial heart - blood keeps bleeding
this is only a warning. but just the same, i'd pay close attention if this applies to you.

i've heard some not nice things about some people who shall not be named because i dont know exactly what was said or what transpired, so there's no point in starting something without any proof. the drama is just unnecessary.

anyway, i just thought i'd let everyone know that if ANYONE is attempting anything shady in the least with lisa or megan or any combination therof, i WILL put a stop to it. i'm not gonna start anything, but if it comes down to it, i will be more than happy to finish it. and if what i've heard turns out to be true, you should hope that we dont run into each other.

i know the ladies can handle themselves just fine, but i'd rather it didnt come down to that.

again, quick recap... me, not in such a good mood. dont make me any more angry. that is all.
